Privacy Policy

This policy briefly explains what data we collect when you use Race Of Words and how we use it. The data controller is Adil Onur Karahan Şahıs Şirketi. Detailed information is provided in the KVKK Information Notice and the Personal Data Protection and Processing Policy.

Data we collect

• Account information: username, e-mail address, telephone number if you enter it, password (stored in an irreversible form), profile photo; if you sign in with Google / Apple, the e-mail address received from those accounts.
• Game data: level, experience points, coins, trophies and league information, match and level history, achievements, friend and clan information, and the nicknames and scores you use in live quiz rooms.
• Purchase data: store transaction number, product purchased and date. Your card details do not reach us.
• Device and security data: IP address and the country/region derived from it, device model, operating system, app version, language setting, session and access logs.
• Advertising data: the advertising identifier used by Google AdMob.
• For institution members: the institution you belong to, your grade, in-institution points and raffle participation. This information can be viewed by the officials of your institution.

What do we use the data for?

To create your account and save your progress, verify your e-mail address, run matchmaking, leagues and rankings, verify purchases, prevent cheating and abuse, improve the game, send notifications and display advertisements.

Advertisements

The app displays personalised advertisements based on your interests through Google AdMob; by using the app you are deemed to accept this. If you do not want them, you can turn off personalised advertising and reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings; non-personalised advertisements are then shown.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers necessary to deliver the service (server hosting, e-mail delivery, Google / Apple sign-in and payment, Google AdMob) and, where legally required, with the competent authorities. Since Google and Apple are located abroad, this sharing constitutes a transfer abroad.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only when scanning a QR code to join a live quiz room, and the gallery only when selecting a profile photo, and in each case only after your permission has been obtained.

Retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account remains open. You may request the deletion of your account and your data by means of the Data Subject Application Form. Retention periods are set out in the Personal Data Retention and Destruction Policy.

Children

Race Of Words is not directed at children under the age of 13; it does not collect age information and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware, or are informed, that data of a child under 13 is being processed, we delete it without delay. Users under the age of 18 must use the Platform under the supervision of their parents or guardians.

Contact for your rights and requests

We kindly ask you to write “Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu İlgili Kişi Talebi” (Personal Data Protection Law – Data Subject Request) in the subject line of the application envelope or e-mail.

*For applications made in person, only the front side of the document identifying you must be presented (in such a way that the blood type and religion fields are not visible).

Your requests will be concluded free of charge within 30 (thirty) days at the latest. If the operation requires an additional cost, a fee may be charged in accordance with the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
